Mr. Conklin spends the morning locked in the cafeteria freezer when Miss Brooks unknowingly locks him in. Later, to show Mr. Boynton how "domestic" she is, Connie offers to cook dinner for him on his new stove. (Mrs. Davis immediately gets to work since Connie can't cook.) At Mr. Boynton's, Miss Brooks turns the stove on to heat the meal, not realizing that the appliance hasn't been properly lit. With a kitchen full of gas, Mr. Conklin wanders in looking for his tool kit. With the kitchen light burned out, he lights a match.

It's Christmas Eve when Father Rojas at the Old Mission Plaza Church in Los Angeles discovers that the statue of the Infant Jesus is stolen from the crib. The statue's worth is only a few dollars, but it is of great sentimental value for the parish. Friday and Smith promise to try to get it back before mass on Christmas Day, but this means that they have less than 24 hours to catch the thief.

Department store worker Steve Mason (Scott Brady) is fired at Christmas time when he takes pity on widowed Connie Ellis (Phyllis Thaxter) after it is discovered that she is a "secret shopper" for a major competitor. Connie's young son Timmy (Chris Olsen) is delighted by the new friend in her mother's life, but Connie's fiance Carl (Elliott Reid) is not pleased by Steve's presence. Romantic complications arise when Connie must decide between a loveless but financially stable marriage with Carl or a second chance at true love with Steve.
Hosted by legendary actors Walter Brennan and Otto Kruger, this "Lux Video Theater" was performed and telecast live on December 22, 1955. In addition, rare classic commercials and interviews with the performers are included in this vintage broadcast.

A reporter asks Jack how he found Mary, and Jack remembers himself as a straw-hatted Hollywood boulevardier, twirling a cane, singing "Just a Gigolo " - lured into a May Co. store by a sale on $ 1.99 guaranteed shirts. 22 years later as he's being interviewed, Jack's still wearing the garish shirt. Underwhelmed by Jack's charms, saleswoman Mary Livingstone cracks wise with Jack, while her female co-workers both slice him up and encourage Mary. Episode also features Rochester singing and scat-dancing with The Sportsmen Quartet on "I Get So Lonely."

After the show, Jack has trouble getting to sleep because of a leaky faucet and forces Rochester to rock his bed. Finally asleep, a pair of burglars try to ransack Jack's bedroom but are defeated by his booby traps.

Gomer makes a citizen's arrest of Barney for committing the same traffic violation that Barney just ticketed him for. This causes Barney to overreact, resigning as deputy and demanding a jail sentence in lieu of paying the fine. When Gomer finds out how far it has gone, he tries to come up with a solution.
